Christos's latest solo exhibition... "The Bizzare & Luminous" was held at the ArtHouse Gallery Bar in Thessaloniki, Greece on December 16th through January 7th.
"The Moment Everything Changed" was Christos's second solo exhibition, held in 2006 at the Thessaloniki History Center. Curated by art historian Chara Theocharous, the works glorified circular shapes and emphasised bright, bold colors. This was the artist's return to basic shapes and form in an effort to capture the absolute minimal in composition.
The "In-secure contact" exhibition is Christos's first solo effort, significantly different to his later works. As the artist explains, "these works reflect the emotions I was going through at that time". Mechanical structures, rustic & dark compositions of grey & mundane colors, all come together to epitomize a sense of destruction and annihilation.

The whole idea is to have fun!
"Art is a state of mind that makes an ordinary world come alive."
Artist's statement
Bio
I've never really given much thought into why or how I became an artist- art kinda found me. For as long as I can remember, I always had a pencil in my hand and I'd scribble on any surface I could find. Early on, a fixation with comic books came about that forever changed the way I saw the world. Emerged somewhere between fantasy, myth and exaggerated reality I subliminally began composing my artistic symphony. Drawing made me feel good and thats all that mattered. I was quickly encouraged to take art classes and later on go to art school, but my main purpose for creating art was always because it felt so damn good doing it.
Art is a state of mind that makes an ordinary world come alive. It alows us to see things from a different perspective and realize the little things that are otherwise overlooked. This is the world my art describes - a fun place where anything is possible.
Christos Tsintsaris was born on June 19, 1974 in Greece and grew up as a child in Thessaloniki. Expressing creative flare at an early age, his parents enrolled him in drawing classes at the YMCA when he was five years old. With a compulsion for drawing and an underlying influence by cartoons, comic books and fantasy movies of the early 80's, he created his first comic strip at the age of nine.
Growing up in the vinyl era, he was fascinated by the artwork on album covers, such as the work of Mark Ryden and Robert Williams. Captivated by their provocative choice of theme, decisive shapes and bold colors, he would spend hours studying them, re-sketching and formulating his own compositions.
In 1990 he crosses the Atlantic and joins Saint Andrews and a year later Pine Crest School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. As a senior, he excells in sports and earns All American status in swimming. At the same time, his art work also flourishes under the guidance of art instructor, Leon Bryant, who compels him to take advanced placement courses in art, but often complained about his extensive use of the department's materials & paints!
In 1992 he enters Boston University's School of Fine Arts (now College of Fine Arts) receiving a full scholarship. While in college, he further develops his technique in oil painting & sculpting, but also begins creating & submitting professional comic strips to local newspapers.
Prior to his return to Greece, Christos visits Australia and for the first time participates in various collective exhibitions in Melbourne. His unique oil paintings and style would receive immediate acclaim and fuel his passion to further develop his visual vocabulary.
In 1997, he returns to Thessaloniki, Greece and creates his atelier in the Kalamaria area where he produces the artwork for his first major solo art exhibition at the Thessaloniki History Center. Boosted by its success, he participates alongside renowned artists from Greece in various group shows, such as Amnesty International at Villa Bianca, Anatolia College 100 years anniversary and more.
Today, Christos's art can be found at the permanent collection of Thessaloniki's Municipal Gallery and in private art-collections in Greece, U.S.A., Australia & England.
